I bought a second hand Apple TV 4K 1st generation off ebay with a discount coupon it cost AUD 102.99 delivered from retrohunt store on eBay.
Plugged it in and started setting it up, the remote didnt work so great.
Then I figured out eventually there was a mismatch, the Apple TV settop box was from 2017 and the remote was from 2012.
Easy solution is to buy a new one for AUD 89 at office works.
But the problem is I paid second hand for a set top box and a remote, there is no guarantee the new remote will work with the old set top box and then I am nearly the cost of a new one and a weeks worth of time waiting for one to arrive.
It was quite frustrating, so I outlined the issue with the purchase and left negative feedback and let the seller know that it had the wrong remote, the following is the images in the negative review that retrohunt had deleted on my behalf.
